Prayer requests and life updates from your Stantons:

Our son Patrick won the privilege of wrestling in the arena at U of I for the State tournament last weekend. He didn't place, but enjoyed the challenge. One of his teammates said, "No one gets me pumped up like Patrick!" Our Pat is an encourager! Please pray that he finishes his senior year well and discerns his growing-up plans.

Different service opportunities are opening up for Larry, including partnership with other missionaries in the area and ministry with his bow and arrow. He has developed quite a rapport with the boys in the middle school we serve. He's been teaching them English (when to say "Good afternoon" instead of "Good morning") and how to fist-bump, and he makes friends by sharing his dessert in the canteen! Please pray God continues to provide ways for Larry to share his passion for Jesus.

There are many teachers with illness, ill husbands, and/or ailing parents: Csilla, Olgi and Kristina, Viki and Mary, Nikki. Three of these ladies are nursing a parent or husband through cancer. Almost everyone has had a nasty cold or flu, as many of you. Tis the season!

Pray that God encourages and strengthens those here who believe, thanking God for Erszébet, Beáta and Andi, and pray that He brings to faith in Jesus those who don't yet know him. Beáta shared an interesting story: her computer got a terrible virus that encrypted her files--all except those with the name Jesus in the title! She also thought she had lost all her family photos, going back to 2002, but after prayer, she discovered that only about 30% of them are gone. She thanked God and felt he was teaching her that she cannot hold on to everything she wants in this life; only He is lasting and eternal and what matters. It's nice to have a coworker and friend with such faith.

Pray for our students in Téglás and Debrecen: some of the 8th graders did not perform as well as hoped on their exam--it's a one-time, high-stakes standardized test that determines which high school (and career path) they can take. They say life gets tough here at the age of 14. Pray for the economy of Hungary and the lives and hearts of those we serve.

Pray for Liberia's continued healing: the President opened the schools then postponed until March. Dr. Menjay is taking a assessment trip this month; pray for his discernment and safety.
Pray for our service wherever we are, that we give God glory and lead others to Him.

If you follow us on Facebook (www.facebook.com/HopingLiberia) you've seen pictures from recent community and school events here in Hungary, including the Annual Charity Ball with a Western Theme. It's a great honor and blessing to be here, to feel God's love from our friends and to share it with others!
