Right after the New Year holiday, many graduating high school students are under tremendous pressure. Why? It is entrance exam time for colleges. These exams begin in January and continue until the middle of March. (The school year will start in April.) These pictures are of candidates going to take entrance exams for Aoyama Gakkuin University and Waseda University. Our daughter, Miki, took the entrance exams for these two and two others. (She has one more test to go.) We, along with many other parents and students, are awaiting the results. We are praying for God’s choice for Miki’s education. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” (Philippians 4:6 NIV)

We are also praying daily for more harvest workers for Japan. A guest preacher spoke two weeks ago. He challenged us to pray as Jesus invited, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” (Matthew 9:38 NIV) So, I have an alarm set on my mobile phone. At 9:38, I set aside one minute to pray for more workers to share the gospel in Japan. Eleven days from now, 3/11/2016, we will remember the nearly 20,000 who lost their lives in the earthquake/tsunami/nuclear disasters five years ago. Many Japanese are still open to hear the good news of Jesus Christ because of this disaster and how Christians came to serve the survivors. Would you join me to pray for more workers?

May the Lord continue to richly bless you!

With Thanks and much Love,

Gordon and Lee Ann Hwang
