Dan serves the Mission Baptist Consortium of Churches in the area of theological education at Atlantic College and Theological Seminary in Nassau. Estela serves in the area of general ministry with the seven Haitian congregations of the 13-member Mission Baptist Consortium of churches in Nassau, Bahamas.
Estela writes: A few weeks ago, I (Estela) received a phone call from one of the ladies that I work with to let me know that two of the women from our group had been arrested and were being held in the detention center.  While it is not uncommon for me to receive news like this, I still felt overwhelmed as Pricil and Tata had just attended my class a few days earlier.

It was heartbreaking to hear about what had happened to these ladies [who were arrested to deported to Haiti where they have nothing].

Due to the severe humanitarian crisis Haiti is experiencing in the aftermath of last month's hurricanes, the Haitian government has called upon the Bahamas to cease deportation of Haitians until the country's situation stabilizes.  Sadly, this request has been ignored.

Please remember to pray for:
•    Pricil and Tata as they face the many challenges and adjustments involved in returning to hurricane devastated Haiti.
•    The women in our church and community who live in fear of deportation.
•    Estela as she deals with the constant frustration and instability these situations create for her ministry.
