Dear Friends and Loved Ones

It seems difficult to believe that we have been ministering in Haiti for four years. Our stay in this country has been a real blessing. God has always watched over us day and night. We praise Him and will continue to praise Him as long as we live.

We have also been blessed because of you. Your involvement in our ministry has been vital to our survival. You have supported us through your prayers, cards, letters, gifts of all kinds and money. If you were not behind us, it would be impossible for us to carry on our daily work. It is our prayers that God continue to keep you under his loving arms.

In four years, we were able to learn the Creole language without too many difficulties, thanks to our French background. We have visited and preached in many churches of our Baptist denomination and in many others denominations. We went north, south, east, and west of Haiti in car and in boat, in airplane and by foot. We have made friends with many persons, women, men and children, educated and illiterate, village people and city people. Everywhere we are, we feel the love of people. They have accepted us and we feel loved here. It's their love that has given us the day to day energy to ministry in their midst.

In four years, we have witnessed the growth of many of our students. Those who were our students yesterday have become our colleagues in ministry. What a joy! We have seen many others occupying high positions in many societies around the country. Their testimonies give us more energy to continue serving the Lord at this Christian University in Northern Haiti.

In four years, we have seen many changes at the university level. The number of students (men and women) has gone up to the to the point that the institution has to increase its capacity to welcome these young persons who are eager to learn. New professors have come in and some old ones have gone to other places. The school of Theology added a Master of Theology program and its first graduates (3) are now our friends and colleagues. We have assisted some needy children in their education. Without this assistance, it would have been impossible for many to dream education. Nobody knows who among those little ones will become our treating doctors, our lawyers, and our pastors...

Women's ministries have taken on a new dimension. What was a dream in the mind of our denomination leaders has become a reality thanks to our coming to Haiti. Women have become organized and are becoming more and more involved in many aspects of church ministries. Many other denominations are looking to our Baptist denomination as a model of organization and of involvement of women in the ministries. Kihomi's many gifts have led her to get involved in many aspects of family life. The people have happily changed her name to Kihomi Nzunga to "Pastor Maman".

Our children have been blessed also beyond what words can express. After a time of struggle and adaptation, they are all comfortable studying in the English system. Our oldest daughter, Nzunga Magimvuyu is a freshman at Judson College. She is experiencing God's hand in her life and is growing spiritually. Our boy NZUNGA MAFUNGU is about to graduate from high school. We are praying for his admission into colleges in the USA. The two small ones are doing well at Cowman International School.

We plan to leave Haiti toward the end of June for our deputation time in the States. At this point, the plan is to be at the Baptist Central Seminary in Kansas. We are waiting for the last word on this location.

We would love to visit you personally and your church and express our gratitude. If you would like us to visit, please contact your regional Minister of Mission Support.

We have appreciated your support and are looking to meeting you soon.

May God keep you and bless you.

In His loving service

NZUNGA MABUDIGA
