Dear Loved Ones,

Greeting. We are at the end of this academic year. As always, the end brings with it mixed emotions. At the one hand, we are all happy to see our students grow in knowledge and in their physical status. On the other hand, it is sad to end any class once, as a professor, you develop some kind of attachment to those students.

This is the case with my Orientation and Motivation to the university life class with the all the freshmen of our university. We have the schools of agriculture, theology, education, business administration, fine arts. My class always has over 180 close to 200 students. I have to teach Mondays and Tuesdays.

At the end, the last day of this class, they put on their best outfits and we end up the class with some kind of Agape feast. During this last session, I am always amazed when students tell me what they have learned from this class.

During the year, one gets the impression that they are not listening or they do not care about this class. It is this feeling of knowing that those students do not waste their time, that in spite of hardship of life, they have learned something that has impacted their life today and will continue to impact their life tomorrow. It is the feeling of knowing that they are aware that Haiti is counting on them tomorrow-that feeling is reinvigorating. That feeling restores all the energies lost during the year and make us proud that our time on this Island has not been in vain.

We owe all the glories to God and to you our loved ones.

In Haiti,

Dear Friends,

Milestones in life are important.  Collage graduation is a big one as the real world awaits.  In Haiti getting a job after graduation can be tough.  Sometimes it requires knowing the right person as much as earning your degree.   Please pray that these graduates will be able to fulfill their dreams and that Haiti will benefit as well as themselves.

In Christ,
