Back in Haiti
Nzunga, Haiti

Dear Loved Ones,

Greetings from our Haiti, cheri!

We pray and hope that this letter finds you well. We are doing fine and are trying to settle back in the life and routine in Limbe.

Even before the plane landed in Gracia, our 14-year-old son began to fidget with excitement in his seat saying, "Oh, I feel so excited! I just can't wait".

We spent two days in the capitol city of Port au Prince before heading north on a 17-passenger plane. What a blessed sight to see Haiti's beautiful mountain peaks up close. From the air in the small plane we could see even the most remote hamlets, which can be reached only by winding footpaths.

On the third day of our return a delegation of over 60 women from the Baptist Association came to officially greet us with a 3 hour "welcome home" service which included singing, skits, speeches and poems. There were also representatives from all over the Northern region of Haiti. This was a very moving display of affection for us and the work God has given us here.

Our transition has been so smooth, all of our shipment arrived, and we are dusting, unpacking and organizing our home.It all feels so good!We have even been enjoying rediscovering the wonderful tropical foods. We have eaten more mangoes than we can count and the children have kept the sugar cane vendors busy. After chewing his first stick of cane Gracia announced,"Now, I have peace!!"Once again he expressed what we were all feeling.Pastor Nzunga has already begun preaching and the women are anxious for Kihomi to begin traveling in the regions of the country as well.Benita, our 10 year old daughter has picked up where she left off with her neighborhood friends collecting interesting rocks and picking sweet-smelling bright colored flowers.

As we look forward to this next term in Haiti with anticipation we feel so encouraged by your love and support, which sustained us through out this past year of deputation in the U.S.You opened your homes and hearts to us. You fed us, you prayed with us, you gave us wise counsel, you ministered to us and built us up to minister in the body of Christ here in Haiti.

Subjects for Prayer:

1. Nzunga Magimvuyu and Nzunga Mafungu, our two oldest children we left behind in the U.S. studying in College.

2. The Haiti Baptist Convention leadership

3. The Christian University of Northern Haiti: Upcoming academic year

In Christian Love,

The Nzungas

P.S. The average temperature since we arrived has been between 82-85 degrees with humidity of 70%. The cost of a gallon of gasoline is now $2.37.
