Dear Loved Ones,

We send you our greetings from all the women who attended the Camp Coq conference. There were 41 women leaders who came from all over the country of Haiti. We had an overview of the Association and its problems. We also envisioned some solutions to help us go ahead. All the leaders will be meeting early next month in Lascohabas in their Executive meeting. We will study about the 2004 National conference to be held at Borel in the Artibonite State.

It was decided at Camp Coq that we focus our attention on the training/discipleship of the women at all the levels of our Baptist churches. In this context, the spiritual formation as well as the information on health will be among the top priorities for the years to come. Small self-supporting projects will be highly encouraged to help families cope with lack of jobs in a stressed economy.

We had the chance to get the taste of the health teaching with Dr. Tshianda Alerte who taught us about hypertension. Many of our women attending the meeting had high blood pressure reading without knowing it. A young woman of 30 years had a reading of 200/80. She did not seem to mind since she did not know what the implications of hypertension were.Ignorance kills and we are praying that God can help us be the instrument in this ministry of combating the ignorance in the minds of our families.

We praise God for having you as our supporters in this fight we have engaged ourselves. Without you and your daily support of prayers, gifts, funds, cards and letters we would be like soldiers in war without guns and bullets. May the God of love be yours.

Your missionaries,

Kihomi Nzunga
