Dear Loved Ones,

May the peace of the Lord be with you.

Go and make disciples. This is part of our mission in Haiti with the Haitian Baptist Convention. Since our arrival at the Christian University of Northern Haiti we have been training young men and young women in different subjects. We have enjoyed our ministry and God has richly blessed us. However we felt that teaching without preparing someone to take our place when we are no longer here, would be like giving them fishes and not teaching them to fish. In spite of our limited resources, we picked up a young man full of talents and vision in the name of Rigard Charles of the town of Limbe.Day in day out, Rigard was by my side observing my way of teaching. Soon I started letting him do some supervised research before letting him stand by his own in front of students.

In spite of his young age, Rigard was highly respected by the students some of whom were much older then he was. As time went by, he became very comfortable with students and with teaching. I felt confident in this young man that I could take on another duty while he went on with his teaching. The president of the university was satisfied with the report he received on Rigard that he soon gave him a class of his own. Rigard became my son as Timothy was to the Apostle Paul.

Our concern was that with his Bachelor in theology degree, he would be limited to the service he would render at this university. Thank God Almighty that the year of deputation we spent at Central Baptist Theological Seminary was not in vein. We shared the pain of this Christian University of Northern Haiti with the professors and the staff of the Central. They were all very supportive and very understanding of the Haitian plight. They accepted Pastor Joel Moise Dorsainville, the former president of the executive committee who signed our OK before coming to Haiti. Joel has been teaching at this university and according to the students he was one the best professors. He also is the pastor of Haut Limbe Baptist church, the church we go to. Now Joel is working on his Master of Divinity to come back and continue his teaching ministry.

Pastor Rigard Charles has joined Pastor Joel MoiseDorsainville as another Haitian Master of Divinity student at Central Baptist Theological Seminary. During this summer Pastor Joel came to visit his family in Haiti. While we were talking he said: "I am very happy at Central. They have top professors who present to me new things. But what I like most is their spirituality". It is our prayers that Pastor Rigard will be caught up in the Central spirituality and grow as a new person ready to serve his country and his fellow persons.

We want to thank the professors; the staff and the alumnus Association of Central Baptist Theological Seminary for making the dream of Pastor Joel and Pastor Rigard come true. You have gone too many miles to help and support our ministry. May God bless all of you.

As for us, this is the least we could do: train another to take up our places when we are no longer needed. And this ministry of disciplining leaders would not be possible if it were not for the efforts and sacrificial giving of all of you who love the mission. As the time has arrived to give to the World Mission Offering, we beg you to give more and above what you have planned to keep all your missionaries on the field.

We pray that God continue to bless you.
