Dear Loved Ones,

We wish a happy New Year to each and every one of you.The political situation and the natural disasters that Haiti has suffered from last year have deeply affected the normal functioning of all the institutions. This is mostly true with our Women's Association of the Haitian Baptist Convention.

It has become difficult to travel from one part of the country to another.People fear the insecurity that reigns in the capital city with its deep implications all over the country. That is why for instance we did not have our Annual General Assembly.Instead the Presidents of all the regions met at Limbe, our university campus, on Dec 26-28 to evaluate our ministry and make projections for 2005.

Out of this meeting, it was decided that we, the Women's Association of the Haitian Baptist Convention, should once again visit and worship with our brothers and sisters in Gonaives.Sunday, January 9, 2005 in spite of rain, two tap-tap (public pick-ups transporting people) were filled with gifts all of kinds: clothes, toys, cooking utensils, cooking pots and headed to Gonaives. We worshiped with believers of Bethel and Bereca Baptist churches.

The news of Tsunami moved people and the believers of Beraca Baptist church took special offering to assist brothers and sisters in Asia. This church knows first hand experience what a natural disaster like this one does to people.Their Pastor, Petit D, lost his wife in the Gonaives flood. They collected 5,000.00 gourdes or US $142,85!

After fellowship around the table, we left them full of joy and happiness in the Lord.

We are doing fine in the entire family and busy as always doing what we are supposed to do.

We keep you all in our prayers as we are dearly lifting to the throne of grace tsunami victims and their families.

Yours truly,

Kihomi Ngwemi Nzunga
