The Daniel Family

Dear Loved Ones,

May the peace of the Risen Lord be with each and every one of you. We praise Him daily for His care.

We would like to invite you to visit the Daniel family with us. Daniel is a school teacher and his wife is a fulltime house wife. They have five children and live in Bel Hotesse area about a ten minute drive from our house. A school teacher can not make ends meet with the money he makes from teaching. That is why many moonlight to help their families survive.

Women who work with Kihomi have asked for prayers for the Daniel family. We have been praying without a clear picture of the situation. Then one day, Kihomi went with her women to visit the family. She came back with a broken heart and did not sleep well that night. She woke up many times to pray or to cry.

The oldest boy of the Daniel family would be in his first year of college studies now. Their oldest daughter would be about to finish high school. One day, suddenly, the boy fell and could not get up. Since that time, the boy has been bedridden. Then the daughter, who was healthy and strong, felt sick, also. The two children are bedridden and their bodies are shrinking. They have pain all over and warts developing in their bodies. The family has seen numerous doctors and visited many hospitals, but, so far, nothing has happened. Some people say thatMr. and Mrs. Daniel with a sack of rice, grapes and sugar we have just delivered. it is some kind of cancer and others say it is a cyst in their spinal column. A big question is, "what will happen to the other children"

Now they are there waiting on the Lord's will, or as we say over here "si Bondye vle."

Meanwhile, they need medication to alleviate their pain, clothes to cover their almost meatless bodies, and food to feed their bones. Their mother said they like meat and juice. After two years now, the family is physically, emotionally and financially exhausted. It is only their faith which gives them the will to live.

Another sad fact is that last year a neighbor boy of about a year old or so came to play with the Daniel's children when by accident he poked his right eye with a nail destroying it completely. The blame was put on the Daniels who are now responsible for the boy and will have to replace another eye when the boy is ten years old.

Kihomi has taken the case on visiting them regularly. Would you please join us in praying for the Daniel family?

We would also appreciate prayers for the country. Violence, kidnappings and stealing of vehicles continue. According to Metropole Radio, 228 vehicles were stolen in the month of March 2005 in the capital city of Port-au-Prince.

We are all doing fine, and our children scattered around the world are also in very good health.

With gratitude.

Yours serving the Lord in Haiti,

Mabudiga, Kihomi and Pambi Nzunga
