The Violence Continues

Dear Loved Ones,

Greetings. We are doing fine. Kihomi is back in very good shape and very good spirit. We praise God for his wonders.

We continue to need you your prayers. The violence that goes on in the capital city has badly affected the country. It seems that it is moving north where we are.

Here is the latest case that happened to our own Baptist pastor in charge of our Fort Liberte Baptist church. He is also the dean of studies at our universite Chretienne de Nord d'Haiti. This is the third time that Dr. Andre Jean has been the victim. He once was attacked at gun point in Port-au-Prince and lost everything he had in his car. During the last political turmoil gangs broke open his house taking with them all the money the pastor was keeping for the school. And this last Saturday, August 13th, he was again the victim of gangs as you read the information the president of our university has shared.

In a country where there is no way to get the psychological help one needs in case like this, you can imagine the agony the pastor is going through as he is nearing his retirement age.

PS. By the way, Dr. Andre Jean had a very nasty experience on Saturday. He was kidnapped in plain daylight on his way to Fort Liberte. Four men, two of them dressed as police officers. They tied him up and put him at the back of the car, crossed Cap Haitian and after the 4VEH Radio Station they stopped there, they asked him to give them all his money or they would kill him.It happened that he came to draw some money from the Bank, his wife who is sick needs to go to they States for some tests and also draw enough money to pay some depts, he was forced to give all that money. Money told me that it was a total of

$10.000 US.He was released after given up that money.

  • Please do pray for Dr. Andre Jean.
