We Have a Lot to be Thankful For

Dear Loved Ones,

Greetings and we hope that you had a loved thanksgiving dinner. Today Friday we had our first Thanksgiving dinner at the president of our university's house.

They served two turkeys and all kinds of good food. We started at 2:30, just the time for me to be in class with special students who come during the week for their classes.

I had to escape the dessert part to join the class. Before we ate, each person thanked GOD for one or more things. Among other things we all thanked God for Agape Flights for giving us the turkeys.

Once I got to the class, my assistant had already started teaching. As I was getting ready to sit down, one student asked me to explain the marriage in Congo, Africa. This discussion became very animated.

Tomorrow at noon, we are going to join another friend for another Thanksgiving dinner. And when we decide to eat our own turkey, we will have 3 big dinners just for one Thanksgiving 2005.

Saturday, November 26th, was another turkey day for Kihomi and I.We were invited by our friend, Cheron to share the Thanksgiving dinner with her and the 48 children of her orphanage. This was a special Thanksgiving, unlike no other because of the impact the precious children made on us.It is an orphanage for critically ill and abandoned children.

We have shared some gifts with the children of this orphanage in the past without making a concerted effort to get to know them.At the dinner, however, we had an opportunity to spend some time with the small and innocent children. The children are of all ages ranging from 1-18 years of age. They invited us to visit their rooms and their play area. Some of them were curious to know if we knew Jesus.I asked them what they wanted to become when they grow up.Many of them said they wanted to be a pastor, agriculturist, cook or a nurse.Listening to their small talk and observing their orphanage it is obvious that they need and appreciate the basket of soccer balls, toys, clothes, sheets which we are able to help them with thanks to your support to our ministries.

One little girl in particular, RoseManie, made a significant impression on us.She is four years old, beautiful, and has AIDS.For us to hear of her history and see the miracle God is doing in her life at the orphanage really touched us.

We were also surprised and blessed to meet the principal of the children's school and her accountant, Miss Claudine Cesar at the dinner.Claudine is a 2005 graduate of our business school. We helped Claudine finish her studies by paying part of her school tuition. She was a model of a praying student. We remember Claudine as an energetic student, frequently visiting our home over the past four years and now she volunteers to teach Bible, social skills and French at the orphanage. It made us truly glad to see her and learn of her impact on the life of these orphan children.

This kind of testimony is what gives us the joy of being in Haiti, in spite of the instability of the country.Would you please be praying for the ministry of this orphanage and our own?

We really appreciate your support, prayers and care for us as we serve Christ in Haiti.

Truly yours,

Mabudiga and Kihomi Nzunga
