Dear Loved Ones,

Greetings. This is the carnival weekend when people are offto enjoy the popular street dance. Our university is open in spite the of official holidays. The weekend was very busy for us at the Haitian Baptist Convention.

Rev. Emmanuel Pierre, the general secretary went to Ferrier to attend the Fete Moisson, the fund raising worship service. Kihomi, the national coordinator of women ministries is in Camp-Coq since Friday until Tuesday morning meeting with her women. The president of the executive committee, Rev. Gedeon Eugene and I went to Ennery to attend the 25th anniversary of Rev. Ludner Cardichon ministry at our First Baptist Church of Ennery (Febuary 1981-Feb.2006). The church is now 77 years old.

Rev. Ludner Cardichon is a pastor, a lawyer and vice president of the high court in the city of Gonaives, the city where Haitian independance was proclaimed on January 1st 1804. He is also a professor at our Univerite Chretienne du Nordd'Haiti.Faithful member of the CBH executive committee, pastor Cardichon has been the busiest person and the most successful Christian leader of Haitian modern times.

The service started at 9:00 AM with a street march accompanied by a lovely fan fare. At 11, we all were standing for the first song in church. The church was full to its capacity and many people were following the service outside. In the church we had government officials, police authorities, pastors of all kinds, law authorities, and all the services imaginable in Haiti.Choirs were at their best and sung the songs of heaven.

During the whole service tears could not stop coming from pastor Cardichons eyes. Testimonies came from all walks of life. Pastor Cardichon has helped his members have the best schools (primary, high school and professional). He introduced the scholarship program to help the needy children, pigs and goats for the families. He built roads and a drainage system for the rain water. The church has many choirs and 18 preaching stations. He built the personage and the actual church sanctuary.

Rev. Eugene preached the saving word of the Lord while I advised the congregation and led the pastoral prayer or La grande priere. Gifts and certificates expressed clearly the love of the church to the pastor and his family. The gift that I loved the most was that the church would wash the car of the pastor, empty the old gas in the tank and fill it up at the gas station with new gas.

In spite of his tears, Rev. Ludner Cardichon thanked all those who came and his church for their support and their love. He promised them to do more with God's help.

At 2:50 we were out of the service and straight to the reception table as the Haitian hospitality requires. We got home at 6:00 PM, tired but happy.

Your support is what changes lives here.Pastor Cardichon said it clearly. He is the product of mission help from high school to seminary. He did not pay a dime for his high school or theological education. Now he is the one touching thousand of lives in Haiti.

May God bless you all.

Yours in Haiti,

Nzunga Mabudiga
