Dear Loved Ones,

Greetings and peace of our Lord Jesus-Christ to all of you. We continue to rejoice in the Lord. The Northern part of the country is relatively calm even though we have some incidents once in awhile. In general we move with caution for what we have to do. The capital city is becoming a hot zone again. The killing and the kidnapping continue.

As to our Haitian Baptist Convention, we praise God for His goodness. We had our annual general assembly on the campus of the Universite Chretienne du Nord d'Haiti from Tuesday July 11 to Friday July 14. It was very well attended. Over 350 delegates were present representing our 112 churches.

On Wednesday afternoon we all drove to Quartier-Morin to break the ground for the Haitian Baptist Convention Hospital project at what used to be the Wayne & Katherine Niles house. We collected the offering which we repeated again at the closing service on Thursday night.

The highlight of Thursday activities was the vote of the new executive committee which came around 6 PM. The church was packed and the climate was very relaxed. For the first time, the candidates to the position of president and vice-president did not have any opposition and no one else runs for the same position.

Now our new team is composed of:

Pastor Luckner Cardichon of Enery Baptist Church, President Pastor Barbanas of Francois of Hinche Baptist Church, Vice-President Pastor Emmanuel Pierre, General Secretary Pastor Egeune Gedeon, Advisor (former president) Pastor Moise Joel Dorsainville of Haut-Limbe Baptist Church, Advisor (he is currently an M. Div. studentat Central Baptist Theological Seminary finishing up in December), Advisor Pastor Delinse Jean of Quartien-Morin Baptist Church.

We would deeply appreciate your prayers on behalf of this new team that is to head up the future of the Haitian Baptist Convention.

With love and gratitude,

Yours Nzunga Mabudiga
