Dear
Friends,
Greeting and peace of our Lord on you. While we continue to watch the
horrible images of Haiti,
our hearts have no peace and it is difficult to have a good night sleep.
The country continues to need water, food, medical attention, a place to
lay the head when tired (tents). The responses of everybody have helped sustain
many people even though the needs are still growing with each day.
"Refugees" continue to invade the country sides where there
is no infrastructure to welcome them. The struggle for survival is not
only limited to Port-au-Prince,
the capital city, but it is widespread throughout the country.
The fear of another earthquake or a tsunami is overwhelming people in the
northern part of the country where there was little damage. People are making
plans to leave the city of Cap-Haitian
for instance to move far from it. Those with even a one story building are
afraid to go in for fear of being trapped inside in case of an earthquake.
Haiti
does not have an infrastructure for a massive crisis like this one and we lack
professional counseling centers to help the masses face the fear of
unknown. The trauma is going to be there as a national problem and the smartest
people will find ways to exploit people who are already weak and traumatized.
Please, let us all continue to pray for our brothers and sisters in Haiti that
many will not turn to voodoo priests for answers to the unknowns of
tomorrow.
Yours,
Nzunga & Kihomi
Dear supporters of Nzunga’s and Kihomi’s ministry,
The disaster that hit Haiti is already starting to fade from our TV’s and will be completely gone soon. The losses these people sustained in all areas of their lives, emotional, spiritual, financial, and in many cases physical are not going to fade quickly. Loved ones dead, living quarters gone, livelihood gone and in Port-Au-Prince area churches gone. This really demonstrates why Nzunga and Kihomi need to continue their ministry in Haiti. They minister to those on the bottom of the social and economic ladder who are going to need so much love, understanding and life sustaining supplies. Please help us keep them there showing the love of Christ in the midst of terrible circumstances. No amount is too small. You can send your checks to International Ministries and write “Nzunga and Kihomi on-going support” in the memo line or on line on the IM website with a credit card.
Thanks for your love and concern,
