Dear Loved ones,

Time seems to fly fast. It is just a little bit over a year since we came for our deputation. God has been good to us. We had the rare opportunity and the privilege to share time with our children. We experienced the most beautiful feelings of being the grandparents and enjoyed our first granddaughter.

Everywhere we went individuals as well as churches opened their homes to welcome us. They sacrificially gave to support our ministry in Haiti. We feel blessed to have the most dynamic MPT. Their support and prayers have been critical in this time of economic hardship for all.

We left Haiti when it was whole and we are returning to a country that has been devastated by the historical earthquake. Many of the homes where we ate, slept, churches where we worshipped and the people we knew are no longer there. Upon our arrival emotions of joy will be mixed with sadness of not seeing the country as we left it in 2009.

The challenges ahead are numerous and unknown and alone will not be able to bear the cross we are going to face.  However we know God and you are with us.

We ask your support and prayers as we leave the hot weather of Arizona on Monday August 30 to get to the hot weather of Cap-Haitian, Haiti on September 1st.

Yours,

Dear Supporters,

Nzunga and Kihomi return to start another five year term serving in Haiti.  As he said, things are not as he left them.  The university where he teaches has taken in many more students from destroyed schools in Port-Au-Prince.  Some are staying in condemned buildings because there is no where else to put them.  The eye clinic is more vital than ever.  Kihomi’s teaching and empowering work across the whole nation is needed more than ever as living conditions are very bad and disease is a major problem.  Fear of a major breakout of a contagious and deadly bug is only one of the fears.   They and I covet your prayers that they can adjust quickly to the new reality and that God will guide them as the needs will be overwhelming.

In His Love,
