Sad Day of Prayer

Dear Loved Ones,

Greeting from our Haiti. This 12 January was a sad day around the country. Many churches held services to remember the victims of the earthquake.

Kihomi with some women went to Ouanaminthe, the town on the border of Haiti and Dominican Republic in the North-West. She visited with the widow of Pastor Louis Cleance who died in the States of cancer. The body of the Pastor will be arriving Friday and buried on Sunday January 16.  Pastor Louis Cleance has served the Baptist Church of Ouanaminthe for 42 years.

In the border city, she also saw many Baptist women before going to Fort Liberty where she visited more families of the women of Haitian Baptist Convention. Beside that, she contacted other women by phone. Many women’s groups had a fasting prayer day. The women’s association of the Baptist Church of Darbonne, a city close to Leogane which was the epicenter of the earthquake spent that day in prayer also. When Kihomi called their president, she talked to some women who expressed their gratitude that Kihomi was always close to them and concerned about them. They said that they praying for her family.
