Dear Loved Ones,

Greeting from our country, Haiti. This Sunday March 13, 2011 was the ordination of Ilena Francois and her husband Walky Joaneme. Both have been our students studying theology here at the Université Chrétienne du Nord d'Haiti (Christian University of Northen Haiti). In her first semester Ilena become very depressed comparing her poor situation to the rest of the students. Yet the pressure from the administration of the university to pay her tuition led her close to a nervous breakdown.

God used Kihomi to provide to Ilena's needs (financial, emotional, physical...) keeping her from quitting her studies and to finding herself on the street. We were present at their wedding, at their graduation and now present at their ordination to the holy ministry.

In our poor countries, ordination is a family event. It is a big event and a big ceremony. Nobody from Ilena's side was present. One wonders why. Ilena's small brother fell from a tree in front of their house just a couple of days before the ordination. A branch went through his anal canal and the young boy is peeing blood and his stools are full of blood. The whole family is very concerned about the boy and are caring for him.

At the end of service, Ilena looked Kihomi in her eyes and said: Mamy, I was about to cry for not having my family at this one time event of my life but seeing you present here gave me more courage to endure the absence of the family members. Thank you for coming. May God bless you.

Thank you for praying for us and supporting our ministry to people like Ilena.

Yours,

Kihomi

Dear Friends,

This is a wonderful example how Nzunga’s and Kihomi’s ministry works over the long haul.  Standing beside and mentoring Ilena and Walky over many years.  They bring God’s love to families and individuals by showing them love in very practical and meaningful ways.  Now they are equipped to bring God's love and Jesus to their Haitian countrymen and women.  You played a part in this success story.

Please keep praying for Nzunga and Kihomi as they need spiritual support as well as financial.
Rejoice that that the eye clinic generator has been purchased.
Pray that the funds to get them a vehicle will be available soon. (We are getting close).
Rejoice that many contributed to the Kids for Kids program during the Christmas season.

Blessings,
Dennis Shewell
