Dear Loved Ones,

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge' Hosea 4: 6a

Greetings and May the peace of our Lord be with each and every one of you. I want to greet you on behalf of the staff of the Cap-Haitian eye clinic.

Tuesday July 31 was a special day for our staff. Tuesday is the operating day at the clinic. After the surgeries that were done about 2:30 in the afternoon, we were to have a seminar on diabetes around 3:00 PM. I have brought in a nurse who deals with these cases and teaches nursing in some schools around the city.

The seminar went very well. After all we had to practice taking blood sample and measuring to see the amount of sugar in the blood of each staff. One of our nurses, Mrs. Wilmanise Bertil, known as the evangelist of the eye clinic has a reading of 398 which was way too high for her. And she did not know or feel anything. Her life was in real danger.

This young lady has been suffering of glaucoma and nobody has thought of testing her for diabetes. This reading was a life saver for her. I strongly recommended her to go to the big hospital for another test and treatment.
The next day she went to the hospital. Her reading is still high but her doctor wants to observe to see if it is a crisis that can go away by itself or it is a permanent sign of real diabetes.

Please continue to pray for all of us at the eye clinic and specially Mrs.
Wilmanise Bertil.

Here are some figures: we saw 206 new patients, 540 returning cases and 33 operations for the month of June and 224 new patients, 617 returning patients and 30 operations for July. All these patients heard the word of God being preached since we start our service with a daily devotion and we prayed together.

We continue to cherish your support.

Yours truly,

Nzunga Mabudiga
