Dear Loved Ones,

This Sunday May 1st was a special one in the life of our ministry. For 13 years, we have been away from home helping in Haiti. In 13 years, the church we started in and served for 11 years when we were in Congo has grown to the point that we were almost lost in their midst.

When we arrived at the door of the church we were welcomed by a girl who was a baby when  we were serving. The cries of joy and tears were all mixed to the point that pastor Nzunga was unable to greet his folks.

It was here where we started a school that has trained hundreds and hundreds of young girls and young boys. Some of them have become professors at the same school that trained them.  It was here at this church that we shed the last tears before going to Haiti. It is here that we shed the first tears when we returned after 13 years.  Choirs sung the old songs that were popular when we pastored the congregation of about 400 members.

Kihomi greeted the members and presented a gift from the Haitian women. The gospel message stressed the importance of giving and taking care of the pastors. When it came time for offering, women gave to compete with men. It happened that women gave more offering followed by youth and men were the last in this competition.

We want to say thank you to all of you for loving us and helping make this voyage possible. We are expecting to see our mothers next week.

Yours,

Nzunga & Kihomi
