Dear Loved Ones,

May the season peace be yours at this time.

As we all know, cholera has killed many of our people in Haiti. It will continue to kill as long as people are careless in the way they behave with basic hygiene. Time after time, we teach people, especially women who are the first victims since they are the ones to feed the sick, to care for the sick, to wash the dirty clothes for the sick, to stay with the sick person in the hospital, what they must do.  We teach them on simple but important hygiene rules of preventing disease and cholera in particular. Many of those women come with their small children to hear our teachings. We also ask everybody to share the teachings with other people.

To our surprise, a two year old boy, Hugue Auguste, was with his mother listening to what went on. He has come up with an idea which to him is like a prayer. Every time before eating, this little boy says: Bonjour de l’eau, bonjour savon, aurevoir cholera. This means, greeting water, greeting soap, bye bye cholera.

How many times we don’t pay attention to the little ones the way Jesus did. Please join us as we try to teach how to say bye bye to cholera and greeting the baby Jesus, our Savior, Prince of Peace.

Yours,

Kihomi Ngwemi.

The MPT team wishes to add their thanks for all who have supported Nzunga and Kihomi this year.  It has been another traumatic year with many reasons to be sorrowful.  During my recent visit we saw a whole school of kids and their teacher in the hospital due to cholera.  However not one was lost because the hospital was there thanks to many of you.  Many other have been saved due to Kihomi’s teachings to the women of the Haitian Baptist churches and supplying them with the rehydration kits needed to save anyone getting the disease.  God’s love and care is in Haiti thru Nzunga and Kihomi because you support them.  Without you the picture would be much bleaker.

May you have a blessed holiday season and celebrating the greatest gift ever given,  Jesus Christ.

 Peace,
