Dear Loved Ones,

May the peace of the Lord be with each one of you. We would like to introduce you to Youselie Ambroise, our second year agriculture student. She is from a family about two hours walk from the university. Youselie is poor in the way she acts , she looks, she dresses and in the way she walks. Third in the family of seven children, Youselie had no way to better her life. After finishing her high school, she was doomed to staying in her village the rest of her life and wait for a man to marry her.

One day Youselie came to sell oranges to our village. Kihomi was interested not only in buying oranges but also in the one who was selling these fruits. She engaged Youselie in a friendly conversation to find out that Youselie has a high school diploma but was doomed to staying in her village because her parents were poor and could not afford to send her to the university.

Kihomi decided to add Youselie to the list of the girl’s she coaches and mentors. At the university Youselie finds herself facing all kind of challenges: dress, hair, looks.. material possessions. Besides providing what Youselie needs to study well, Kihomi is also working to boost and to encourage Youselie’s self esteem. To be poor in a village where everybody is poor is one thing but to find oneself in a university setting is something else.

Today Youselie has new shoes and a computer she never touched before or dreamed of in her entire life.

Please join us as we struggle to help those who otherwise are not able to help themselves. Your support to our ministries is vital and we deeply appreciate and thank you all. Please be praying for our emotional strength as we are trying to put ourselves in their shoes.

Any used laptop in good working condition can greatly change somebody’s life over here.

Yours in Haiti

Dear Supporters,

Jesus said “blessed are the poor in spirit”.  He was talking about those who pour themselves out for others.  Those who have so much empathy for others that it drains them. That is who Nzunga and Kihomi are.  It is rare in Haiti to get a high school diploma as most schools are church ran and only go to the eighth grade.  The fact that Youselie has one means she is bright and her parents are trying to educate her.  Now God has lead her to His servants and she is going to have a chance of a better life.  Studies show when you educate a women you educate a family and some times a village.  Please pray for her success at the university and for Nzunga’s and Kihomi’s strength to keep draining themselves.

Yours truly,
