Dear Loved Ones,

Peace on each one of you.

One aspect of my ministry is teaching. I have spent a great deal of time going from one church to another, one region to another. I have seen how much women are struggling in life. As a woman, I put myself in their shoes only to feel their pain and agony. I deep down believe that once women are well taught, they will be able to take good care of their families. That’s why I am taking on more challenges every day, to equip myself more to help women face the reality of life.

In order to teach, I have to know what I have to transmit to those women, the agents of change in our society. For instance in Port-au-Prince, I learned how to invest in small micro credit and micro enterprise projects and why many projects of this type don’t succeed.

I am also learning a great deal about Self Help Group, a saving program and soon I will be organizing a self help small group in different region of our Haitian Baptist Convention.

There is no way I can understand and accompany those women if I don’t myself invest in learning. That is why I am a teacher but also a student.

Thank you for praying for us.

Yours,

Kihomi

Dear Friends,

In Acts 8:30 we have the story of Phillip meeting a man who was reading Isaiah and Phillip asked him if he understood.  His reply was “How can I unless some one explains it to me.”  Kihomi is pouring out her life to uplift the women of Haiti.  When the Cholera epidemic hit she quickly learned what must me done and started teaching her women teams at the 125 Haitian Baptist churches what they must do.  Many lives were saved.  She has studied many health issues, family planning, economic development, team building and more to be equipped to give the best of information to these ladies.    It is hard learning new things and many of us reach an age where we don’t want to learn anymore.  It is also hard when you give your all and the results aren’t always what you hoped for.  She never gives up or gives in.  She keeps pushing ahead for the good of the Haitian people.  The previous journal chronicled some of the success stories.  Thank you for supporting her, praying for her and walking beside this great lady of the Lord.

In His Grace and Peace,
