Dear Loved Ones,

Greetings.

Kihomi’s ministries can be described as bizarre and at times weird. She has been over almost all of this country. She has seen the best and the worst of people in this country. Take this case of Maudeline Louis. She is from the south in a remote village called Darbonne, the epicenter of the 2010 quake in Haiti. Maudeline’s mother was murdered by a lady who is still free and lives in the same village. Maudeline, the second of eight children was thirteen years old when this happened and sees her mom’s murderer day in day out. The father is nowhere to be found. Six of the children live with one aunt and two with another aunt. Since then Maudeline has learned the hardship of life and has been used as a good source of cheap labor. One of Maudeline siblings died in the earthquake. None of her brothers and sisters have finished school.

Maudeline learned early in life what survival is all about. In the mornings she buys whatever she can and resells at the same market or at another market. In the afternoons she goes to school. Since 2011 Kihomi has being following Maudeline’s life. Maudeline has wanted to become a nurse but how can she become one from such a remote village? How can she become a nurse without means to go to big cities where they have nursing schools? How can she become a nurse of her dreams without money to pay for the expensive nursing schools in big cities of Haiti?

In her last voyage to south, Kihomi learned that Maudeline has successfully finished her high school and has no future beside buying and selling avocados. After much prayer, Kihomi called Maudeline to help her realize her childhood dream of becoming a nurse. Today she is going to Univeriste Antenor Firmin in Cap-Haitian and staying in the dorm at our university campus.

Kihomi is only a channel God is using to see the unusual need of those without voice and without a face but you are the real masters of change. Thank you for your support and for giving to the world mission offerings.

 Dear Supporters,

Opportunity.  It is something we take for granted here with free schooling through high school and a myriad of programs after you graduate, from college to trade schools.  Despite our recent problems we have a vibrant economy with many chances to make a good life.  Haiti would love to have a 10% unemployment rate.  There are many stories like Maudeline’s of bright children mired in poverty with little chance of a way out.  God has lead Kihomi to her to give her a chance to reach her potential of one His children.  Research has shown when you educate a girl you educate a village.  She will use her education to help her family, her village and break the cycle of poverty.  She will have less children and will educate them.  Thank you for your love and support.  You play a very important role in saving Maudeline and others like her.

Peace,
