Dear Loved Ones,

Greetings. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you.

It is our fervent prayers that you find peace and blessings during this Holiday season in all your endeavors.

We praise God that Kihomi is back on her feet thanks to the wise care of Dr. Steve and wife Nancy James. We thought she had exhaustion from her travels but it was more than exhaustion. Kihomi had a severe headache, fever and backache and the diagnosis of Dengue fever was made and treatment begun. It has taken its toll on her and she is weak but recovering and doing fine.

Here is the story of Kihomi’s visit to the church of Ndanda. Ndanda is two hours and half drive from our house in Limbe. Part of the road is rough and many Ndanda people have to walk for two hours before they can reach a public transportation to get them to Cap-Haitian, Ouanaminthe or Port-au-Prince. They also use horses for transportation.

I visited two churches in the area and spent most of my time in Ndanda. My goal was to visit, to encourage, to empower and to educate them about the cholera epidemic.

While in session, a girl became possessed by bad spirits and jumped a couple of feet from me. Right then, I shifted from teaching to praying. Before I finished praying another girl became possessed also. After the prayer, the girls calmed down and the whole session turned out to be a counseling and reconciliation session where women start presenting their problems, their struggles.

Among the problems they dealt with one lady complained of being accused of being a witch, making people in that church sick and killing others. This issue took some time to bring reconciliation between our women.

In a country where there is no mental or psychiatric hospital, where the ignorance is still high, everything can be bad spirits or voodoo curses. Prayer is the only weapon most of our ladies in this country have to deal with their daily crises of life.

Please be praying for us as we face the most difficult situation of counseling and bringing people together in Christ, the only one who can deliver all of us.

May the peace of Lord be with you at this Christmas season.

Yours in Haiti,

Kihomi & Nzunga Mabudiga

Dear Supporters,

This is a good example of what Nzunga and Kihomi are up against in dealing with the people of Haiti.  In Ephesians 6 Paul tells us we do not battle flesh but powers of darkness and spiritual forces of evil.  The belief in voodoo that is taught to every child in Haiti is always present and ready to show itself.   It is said in Haiti some are Protestants, some are Catholics but all are voodoo believers.   My mother taught me I could not have dessert unless I cleaned my plate.  I am 67 years old but I still feel guilty if I did not finish my meal and am eating dessert.  Can you imagine how deep voodoo is ingrained in a Haitians mind?  Please pray that Nzunga and Kihomi will have the strength to stand up against this “evil power” and that their prayers will be answered so that the people can see the power of the Lord.

In His Name,
