Dear Loved Ones,

Greeting. Here are two testimonies we received from the ladies in Port-au-Prince related to micro loans they have received

1.  "I am Mrs. Abraham from Salem Baptist church. I am selling cookies and candies from the money I got from Women Association. I owed four months for my child school. Thanks to this loans I was able to pay my school debt and thank you very much to that to that women, the leader of the women of the women's association who with the idea to help us spiritually, physically and socially."

Thank you to those who took the decision for us women.

2.  "My name is Madame Jean Bar. I am member of Salem Baptist church. I sell food ( cooked rice and beans). The money from the women Association has helped me increase the amount of food I sell daily.  Because of this loan, I can now pay all my debts. I say Thank you to women Association for this initiative that is helping us women."

3.  Madame Fourna sells soap, detergent, cleaning products. She likes the women's association because the loan project helps her pay the tuition for her children and her debts.  She thanks God for inspiring the women's leader to help them.

4.  This is Madame Melitane. Thank you the women association for helping us she says.

We join many other women in expressing our gratitude to those who think about liberating women from economic hardship.

Yours in Haiti,

Kihomi

Dear Friends,

The Micro Loan program is one of the best ideas for helping the poor help themselves.  Especially women who have been taught they can’t think for themselves and have little worth.  From these small loans they are able to bring income into the family.   Their self esteem and standing in the family are both greatly improved.  They use the money earned for feeding, clothing and educating their kids.   They learn how to run a business and there are even stories of them employing their husbands to work for them!   And it is not a hand out!  A small amount of seed money is multiplied many times and used again for another when the loan is repaid.   I think it is an area we should be encouraging all we can.  Thank you for your support to train Kihomi and her troops to administer these programs.

 In His Grace and Peace,
