Dear Loved Ones,

Greeting and peace to each of you. Many times I have wondered how Kihomi, my wife's brain works. In her ministry, she sees needs where a normal eye will not see. Take this case to understand what I mean. On her way to Limbe, she saw a girl walking funny. Kihomi wondered herself why a small girl like this walks funny. Since she was on a taxi motorcycle, she did not stop the driver and went on. Her conscious started blaming her for not stopping to check on the girl.   The rest of the afternoon turned sad for Kihomi. She prayed to God that if the girl has problem and that You, God want me to help her, let me meet her again. Kihomi saw that girl for the first time and knew nothing of the girl.

Two days later, Kihomi saw the same girl again. She took her to our home to find out what was the situation with the girl. The girl was normal but was wearing a worn out pair of shoes that was not her size. The shoes were too small to fit her growing feet. The girl is A REST AVEC, literally meaning stay with. A rest avec is a poor child being raised by another family with the hope that the host family can feed her/him and help get them to school. Those rest avec who are lucky get good food and go to school. In majority of cases however rest avec are our modern form of slavery.
This girl goes to school in the afternoon because she does the house chores in the morning. She does not go to church because she has to work while the rest are in church.

Kihomi has taken her under her wing, clothing her and she is going to help her change to a good school in the morning shift and support her education.

When it comes to empowering girls to study no one can stop Kihomi or discourage her.

Thank you for partnering with our ministry in Haiti.

Yours,

Nzunga & Kihomi

Dear Friends,

The Good Samaritan did not plan on stopping what he was doing and helping a beaten and bloody stranger.   But that day he was the only one looking on this man with the eyes of God.  He invested time and money to do what was right.  Kihomi looks at the people of Haiti with God’s eyes and acts when she can.  I know she is haunted at times when her resources are not enough to help all she sees.  Thank you for being part of this wonderful and exciting ministry.  You are making a difference.  Please pray that others will decide to join us also to bring God’s will “on earth as it is in heaven”.

In His Name,
