Dear Loved Ones,

Greeting.

In Hosea 4:6 we read about people being destroyed for lack of knowledge. No matter how one looks at this verse, the reality of it is that our people are being destroyed and dying for lack of knowledge. Ignorance kills, it has killed and will continue to kill our people.

Here is a case. The lady in the photo is well known to us and to our community. She is a widow who helps herself by buying and selling fish. One day she brought a basin of fish to sell to our house. When Kihomi came out, she saw her putting a handful of salt in her mouth. Instantly Kihomi stopped her and wanted to know why she was having salt. I have headache, and I want to eat some salt to calm it, said the lady. Kihomi was shocked to learn that one could eat salt to cure headache. Kihomi asked her how much water she has already drank for the day since it was a hot day.

This lady leaves her house at 5: 00 am to go meet the fishermen and buys fish. She spends the day marching up and down the area to sell fish and return at her home late afternoon. Having headache at noon can be the result of not having food and water during the day. Kihomi thought of dehydration or high blood pressure in her age. Instead of salt, Kihomi gave her two glasses of water and asked her to stay calm until her headaches disappeared. After one hour the lady said that she was feeling much better. Kihomi gave her a crash course on hypertension and asked her to go to the local dispensary to check the doctor.

Our people are dying for lack of knowledge.

Yours in Haiti,

Dear Friends,

Kihomi and her team of Christian Home Evangelism has educated countless women on hygiene, cholera, birth control, nutrition, education, starting their own business…and the list goes on.  Despite her efforts so many still walk in darkness.  Please pray that this situation can improve in this poor, poor land.  Thank you for your support of this ministry that reaches so many with what they need to know to live and what they need to know about eternal life.

Blessings,
