Dear Loved Ones,

Greeting. We have come to ask for your prayers for our physical and mental/emotional strength as we deal with so many cases of sickness and death in our midst. Yesterday Monday October 21 we had to bury two loved people in our community. The father of our driver died Sunday Oct 13 at the age of 74. A young man of 35 years died Tuesday Oct 15.

These deaths affect us deeply since we have come to be part of many families in our village here. We count them as part of our own family and they count us as part of their families.  Every time we have a death in our midst, we think also of those of our people back home in Congo who die without us being present. We cry for those we see here at the same time we cry for those of our people whom we will only see in Heaven.

September and October happen to be the difficult months. Parents are stressed with the struggle of not having enough money to send their children back to schools. The stress trigger all kinds of reactions as you can imagine.

Please keep us in your daily prayers as we share the joy and the cries with our people, assist and counsel them.

Serving Him in Haiti,

Nzunga & Kihomi

Dear friends,

Nzunga and Kihomi weep with those who weep and rejoice with those who rejoice.  Currently they are doing much more weeping that rejoicing as you can tell from the previous journal, this one and the one that will follow.  It is common for the students to line the road to the cemetery as a sign of respect when someone in their village dies as you see in the pictures.  Also you will see two caskets in one of the pictures.  The poor can not afford much of a funeral and there is a need to move quickly.  Therefore funerals may be combined and handled by the church deacons instead of the pastor.

Please pray for their emotionalwell being and strength during these trying times.

Because He loves us,
