Dear Loved Ones,

Greetings and peace of our Lord on each one of you.  Since 2001, women of our Baptist Church in Lascohabas have been on the front line of our teaching. They have applied most of what we have been able to teach them.

At the present time, they have organized the micro loan project which is progressing very well and has started liberating many women from the stress of having to wait on jobless men.

They have their own sewing school where they are training many young girls who will be able to support themselves tomorrow.

Along with the sewing school, they have the best cooking school I have seen so far in all our Haitian Baptist Convention churches.  They own two grinders: one for grinding corn and another one for rice.  The women are proud of their achievement.  Because of their organization they have benefited from a goat project from one international organization.

It is here in the city of Lascahobas that the Haitian Baptist Convention has given us a sizable piece of land for the women training and conference center.

We praise God for what women of this city have done and we pray and are looking forward to the day we will start building the conference.

Thank you for your prayers and support of our ministries.

Yours in Haiti,

Kihomi and Nzunga Mabudiga

Dear Friends,

What I wrote with the last journal applies here as well.  Kihomi’s training taking root and leaders stepping forward.  They are now close to self sufficient thru these programs.  This is the outcome we hope for and why micro loan programs are one of the best ways to help.  Now if we can get the women’s center built they will be even more effective and be able to reach out even further to other groups.

Peace,
