Dear Loved  Ones,

Greetings. We continue to pray and to wish you all a Happy New Year 2014. It is our hope that this New Year will be a blessed one to each and every one of you.

The children you see here are not in a classroom or in a church service. They are in our eye clinic waiting room. They are ready for an operation. Each one of them has a problem and waiting his turn to be called in. To quiet their anxiety we share some toys they can enjoy while waiting for the big moment.

Some of them can not see at all. Thanks to the operation they are about to receive they will recover their sight and hope to a bright future.

By ourselves we have no power and no means to make this ministry possible. We deeply appreciate your support.  It allows us to save the lives of these children that otherwise would be impossible. On behalf of these children and their parents who over and over again express their gratitude to us, we say to all of you MESI AMPIL (thanks a lot).

“When he had spit on the man’s eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus asked, “Do you see anything.”  He looked up and said, “I see people; they look like trees walking around.”  Once again Jesus put his hands on the man’s eyes.  Then his eyes were opened and he saw everything clearly.”  Mark 8:23-25

Dear Supporters,

These children deserve a chance at normal life.  Life in Haiti is tough under the best of circumstances and with a handicap it is almost impossible.  The eye clinic is the hands of Jesus opening young eyes to see the world, sometimes for the first time.  Do we need the second touch to see these children as God’s children and not just trees walking around?  Can we feel their despair as they are and their joy after the needed medical intervention?   If we can we will make sure we help as is they were our children.  I am positive that no child of ours would be blind for lack of $110.  Thank you to all that take an active part in this ministry by giving what you can.  For any of you that receive these journals but do not participate search your heart and ask “Do I see hurting children or trees walking around.”  Ask Jesus for the second touch.  You will find joy and peace that defies understanding.
