Greeting dear Loved Ones,

This Tuesday May 13, 2014, was one of Kihomi's best days. She has seen the fruit of her labor. Natacha is an earthquake girl who found herself in the Northern part of Haiti with a friend of her deceased sister. After a while, Natacha was kicked out with nowhere to go in a strange village, Haut-Limbe. Kihomi jumped in to help. She rented a room for Natacha to stay and furnished it with kitchen cooking tools. Kihomi put the girl in school to study business administration at our university and has been paying for her studies ever since.

In the French education system, in order to have a bachelor degree, one has to write a research thesis and defend it in front of a jury in a room packed with people. Today, Natacha defended her bachelor thesis in order to receive her academic bachelor degree on May 30.

What a joy to help an earthquake victim become a university graduate! This was something that Natacha had never dreamed of. She will go back to Port-au-Prince, confident that she can face life without needing to depend on anybody to feed and clothe her.

Dear supporters,

Most of the gods before Jesus's time were seen as demanding figures. You had to follow their rules or else! Jesus taught us more about the loving God who is a Servant to those in need, and he told stories like the parable of the good Samaritan.

The 2010 Haiti earthquake was one of the worst tragedies that the world has ever seen. It has made Haiti number one in number of orphans and the poorest nation in the world. Natacha could have easily ended up selling herself on the street to survive and become another sad statistic. But God led her to Kihomi, who became her mother, mentor and friend. Kihomi didn’t just pray for her, but met her needs in all aspects: physically, emotionally and spiritually. Yesterday, Natacha became an asset to herself and to Haiti as an educated woman who knows how much God loves her, as was shown to her by Kihomi. This is how the kingdom of God is build: one person at a time, and each one will lead to more. You played a part in this story because Kihomi is there because you give. Thank you.
