Edeline family with Nzunga and Kihomi
Dear Loved Ones,
Greetings. An email like this one makes up for our days, weeks and months of work. It gives us the unique joy, peace and the energy we need to serve the Master in Haiti.
Edeline came from Jacmel, south of Port-au-Prince. As soon as she got to our university, she connected with Mommy Kihomi, who became a friend and a mother away from home.
After Edeline graduation in agriculture, she went her way to find herself in Guam with her husband and a baby girl. They all came to visit and Edeline wrote this email to Mommy Kihomi:
Hi mommy Zunga,
We got to Guam since last week, but I could not write you any message. Sorry! We were so sick with fever, cold and coughing; the baby got bacteria and did have a wound in her face; now she’s really well thank God!!! It was so good to see you after so many years and you still stay so beautiful and rejuvenated, God bless you and all your family. Thank you for everything that you have done for me while I was at the university.
Love and smile, Edeline
In Haiti,
Nzunga & Kihomi
Dear Friends,
What joy to see someone you worked with, prayed for and hoped would grow wings and fly do so! Like the sower of seed in Matthew, they have their disappointments of ones they tried to help but fell away. But when your efforts are rewarded by seeing a new life arise from the many road blocks that are the reality of Haitian life, especially for women, it re-energizes and lifts your spirit. What a great tribute to the tireless effort Kihomi puts forth to raise the status of and broaden the possibilities for the women of Haiti!
Because of Him,
Dennis Shewell
