Dear Loved Ones,

 

Greeting. On the mission field you never know when you are going to get a good or a bad news. In this case we got very good news.

 

 What was the news? 

 

Kihomi has been giving Mama Sharon's medicines to many people in our beloved Haiti. She has rescued the health center in Darbone since the nurse in charge has devoted herself to caring for her people.               

 

Lately when the Chikungunya fever broke in Haiti, Madame Williene Latouche responded quickly because she had enough acetaminophen among other medicines to treat the new fever that started in southern Port-au-Prince and the Western region. She writes to express her thanks to Manmie Kihomi: 

 

The Darbone Health Center represented by Latouche Willienne, the nurse, thanks Kihomi's family for its help that enabled us in treating 80 Chikungunya patients in less then a month. 

 

"Le centre de santé populaire Darbonne représenté par l’infirmière Latouche Willienne tient à remercier la famille kihomy nzunga pour leurs aides dans l’épidémie de chikungunya grâce à vos médicaments le centre arrive a traité environs 80 personnes atteint de cette pathologie".

Please be praying for our own Dennis Shewell, our MPT leader, well known also for his comments at the end of our journals. He has broken both hips on a horse and has to stay in bed for six full weeks.

Dear Supporters,

 

Kihomi is always quick to support others that are working for the good of the Haitian people.   Getting needed supplies to any group helping with health problems is a priority.  We wrote many journals of her work in this area during the cholera epidemic.  Now another mosquito borne illness is ravaging Haiti.  This one is not as deadly but very miserable and as always the very young and very old can die from it.  Thank you for your prayers and financial support that under girds this ministry.

 

As far as my problems are concerned, they are minor.  This is the worst that I have ever been hurt messing with my horses but not life threatening.  I am blessed living in a country with good medical facilities; I have decent insurance and a wonderful wife, who is a nurse practitioner.  The hardest biblical instruction for us type A personalities is “Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for Him to act.” Ps 37:7.  Evidently the Lord has something to say to me and has me where He wants me.  On my back looking up!  Your prayers are appreciated but my situation compared with the people of Haiti is insignificant.
