Dear Loved Ones,

Greeting. Every week, we look forward to the coming of Sunday. It is the time we go to refresh ourselves spiritually with the rest of our community members. We listen to the beautiful singing of choirs and to the revitalizing sermons of our dynamics pastors. Sunday is the day that the Lord has made. Sunday brings the break in our daily routine in a place where there is no restaurant, no movie, nowhere to go for a detente.

The trouble we have Sunday after Sunday is old people fainting during services. They leave their houses early in the morning in order to participle in the Sunday school classes that last one and half hour. Then they have to endure another three to four hours for the main service. Many of them don’t wait to collapse because of starvation or issues with blood pressure.

While we rejoice for the coming of each Sunday, we are also concerned of those elderly people fainting because of poor living conditions.

Thank you for your support that helps us meet these kinds of challenges.

In Haiti,
Yours,
Nzunga and Kihomi

Dear Supporters,

For Haitian Christians, church is the highlight of the week.  They dress up like it is a Oscar night and many walk far to get there.  It is the center of their lives both spiritually and socially.  While church attendance continues to drop here, it is not dropping in Haiti.  I think the main reason is the Haitian church meets many needs.  I have spoken in churches here that you don’t want to be in front of the door when it’s over and we were only there for an hour.  The people of Haiti have learned to rely on the Lord as they have no other resources.  Maybe our affluence has hurt our ability to wait on the Lord.

Thank you for keeping Nzunga and Kihomi in you hearts and prayers.

Because He loves us,
