Mary Vil and children
Dear Loved Ones,
Greetings. Running the eye clinic has become a learning school for me. The experience has been rich. Staying in the office to deal with papers is a completely a different matter. When I interact with patients, I talk to them, I talk to my staff, I connect with them at a deeper level. It is at this time that I learn the situations, the dream and the struggles of each person.
This is Mary Vil, 27 years old, no skills, mother of 3 children. When I asked about her husband, she said that she makes those children with a man who already has 3 other children with another woman and they are not married.
She brought her two children to the eye clinic because they had problem in their eyes. Looking at her, asking her some questions, I realize that she is the typical poor girl who makes poor decision when it comes to having children. I am sure that the 3 children are not the end of her business of making children. After treating her children, I pass the case to Kihomi to help clothe those poor twins and give their mother some living lessons. This case is one among the many we receive. And they can be emotionally draining.
Thank you for being the feet and the hands of Jesus at the eye clinic.
In Haiti,
Nzunga & Kihomi
Dear supporters,
I love this journal. It is a perfect example how Nzunga sees the whole person and their needs not just a patient needing eye care. It also demonstrates how Nzunga and Kihomi work together to show God’s love to those many would dismiss as not worthy. Their skills and passion are perfectly matched to be serving Him by caring for others. Thank you for doing your part to keep them in Haiti doing the Lords work.
