 Dear Loved Ones,

Greeting. This Sunday January 31, 2016, was a big Sunday in the history of our Baptist Church of La Plaine du Nord. it was the celebration of its 90th birthday. The church was packed with all kind of dignitaries.  8  guest choirs some of them sang twice. Plaine du Nord as a city  is well known as the capital of superstition because of the Voodoo mud pool. The pool is side by side with catholic, the cemetery and our Baptist church.

 I went to attend the service as all the invitees without expecting anything. In middle of the program, the pastor of the church called me to stand in front of everybody and presented me with a nice plaque of recognition. I was moved to tears and did not know why and what to say. The plague reads:

LA PREMIERE EGLISE DE LA PLAINE DU NORD

                           REMERCIE ( THANK)

Le DR/Rev Nzunga Mabudiga

pour son amour sincere et tous les bienfaits dont elle est l'objet de sa part.

{For his sincere love and all the goodness this church has benefited from him}

Merci (thanks)

We are here doing what we know best but we are doing together with you our faithful prayer warriors.

 Dear Friends,

This is an amazing outpouring of love at an amazing place in Haiti.  I have been to this spot where the drums never stop beating at the center of voodoo practice.  A big mud pit with a church on each side.  This is something that every pastor in Haiti battles.

The church at La Plaine du Nord has told the truth that will set them free for 90 years right next to this big lie.  Their honoring of Nzunga shows how much his influence and love has spread to all the Haitian Baptist churches.  Haitians as a rule don’t like foreigners involved with their lives and believe it or not especially Africans.  What a testimony of Nzunga’s life work to be considered not only one of them but as a friend and ally of their work.

Thanks you for keeping him there.

In His Name,
