Dear Loved Ones,

 “The Angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and rescues them” Psames34: 7.

 Greeting. I left my house on Wednesday February 17 at 6 AM. The truck was full loaded and we were to cover some of our Baptist Churches in Central region: Savanette, Lascahobas, Baptiste, Liana Riche, Beladere, Thomonde, Cerca La Source and Thomassique. The goal was to visit the different ministries of women and men in those churches. We were also teaching about the SHG (Self Help Group), an economic development project and we spent some time on Leadership training. The roads were in pretty rough condition. It takes courage to be driving on those roads.

 Everywhere we went, we were well received and many people were eager to learn. The sessions were much represented. Wednesday and Thursday we visited the churches in Savanette, 2 in Lascahobas, Baptiste, Liana Richeand Beladere.

 On Friday, we were to go to Thomonde, Cerca La Source and Thomassique, but for some strange feeling and some inexplicable reasons, we all felt we need to cut short our trip. We only worked in Thomonde and we left without visiting the churches of Cerca La Source and Thomassique.

 It was only the next day that we learned God was really with us and was sparing us of what was to come.

We learned that just after we left, some unknown armed people were crossing the border and didn’t want the custom people to know what they were caring and they opened fire that has caused panic in the area.

 To think that we were in that city the day before and we were in the area the day of the violence was very scary.  One of the ladies called me saying “it is only God who could spare us by getting us out of the area on time”.

 Thank you for keeping us in your daily prayers. It is only because of those prayers that we are safe now.

Dear Friends,

 

Travel in Haiti is always an adventure.  Muddy, rutted, washed out roads are the norm except in a few places where they have build new roads.  Weather can go from sunny to torrential downpour in a blink of an eye.  Fording creeks and rivers are required.  This is why I am so happy we were able to get them some reliable vehicles.  (We still need money for the van) We rarely talk about the most dangerous of all; men with evil intent.  I really don’t think it is any more dangerous in Haiti than here but you have to be aware of what is going on around you.  Since they still haven’t settled the election yet that adds another layer of possible violence.  However the Lord sent them a signal and they paid attention to it.  PTL!

 

Please pray for their safety especially right now when tensions are high.
