Dear Loved Ones,

Greeting. We are now in Arizona trying to get some medical attention for my worn out knees. The ministry of the eye clinic continues its mission of caring and teaching.  I think to have written about the eye clinic becoming a teaching institution in Northern Haiti. We receive nursing students from Gonaives, the city where the Haitian independence was proclaimed, for practical training. 

The training turns out to be so beneficial and of high quality that we get group after group.

This ministry is the fruit of your love, your dedicated prayers and your financial support. Without your back up, we would not be able to treat and to train.

Dear Friends,

The eye clinic is an oasis in a sea of misery.  It is the only eye clinic in northern Haiti that your ability to pay does not keep you from treatment.  It is the only clinic that will remove cataracts from children.  It is a teaching facility for student nurses as you see here. It also demonstrates how to run an orderly and efficient institution.  Notice the gleaming floors and walls.  Haiti is dirty and messy to say the least.  When you enter the eye clinic you see a well maintained clean place to be treated.  You get a number that insures you will be seen when it is your turn.   God’s love is demonstrated from beginning to end.  Sight is restored.  Hope for a better future is dispensed.  It has become a place to bring school children just to see such a place as you will see in the next journal. 

All of this has happened because of your support.  You are a missionary and have touched these people as if you were Jesus.
