Dear Loved Ones,

Greeting. This Sunday May 5 was a special one because we attended a special nursing graduation. We left our house at 9 AM to get the best seats at the 11:00 AM graduation in the big catholic cathedral in Cap-Haitian. At 10:30 we attended the whole catholic service. The catholic mass ended at 11:45 AM. They had to decorate the cathedral to fit the graduation. 

The graduation procession came in at 12:50. While we were looking forward to begin with the graduation, it was another catholic service that was starting at 1:00 for the graduates. The service went on and on until 2:45. The preaching was long, then the offering and the communion (Lord Supper) to over packed cathedral. Deep down our hearts we were wishing for the ravens to bring us crackers & water but… We learned to live not only by bread but on what was going on in the cathedral.

The graduates got out to change their uniform and came back in procession shortly after 3:15. The speeches were long and beautiful. Close to 5:00 PM, people were fed up and were getting out while the officiant was distributing the plagues of Honor & Merit to doctors who teach those graduates.  The Haitian society has now new 91 nurses, all girls but 4 boys.

In the last 10 years, we are witnessing the tremendous birth of nursing schools everywhere in the country. We attended this graduation to support and share the joy with one of Kihomi sponsored girls. What a joy to see that Kihomi is not sowing in vain.

Thank you for accepting sacrificially to walk alongside the Haitian people via our ministries. 

Please pray for my upcoming trip to Port-au-Prince to buy the laboratory products, service the Van and check on the internet trouble.

 Dear Supporters,

I don’t know about you but I feel hungry just reading this.  However many people in Haiti only get one meal a day and live with hunger every day. 

It’s great seeing these caregivers graduating and you can tell by the length and details of the ceremony how proud the parents are and how much it means to the community.  Their opportunity for a better life for them and their families is increased immensely by reaching this milestone. 

Your support of Nzunga and Kihomi plus giving to their scholarship program definitely played a part for one young lady.  Thank you.
